EMERGENCY SERVICES

Overview

The U.S. Congress established Civil Air Patrol to encourage and aid citizens in contributing to the public welfare and to provide aviation education and training to its members and

local communities. That charter outlined ambitions to provide an organization of private citizens to assist in meeting local and national emergencies. To that end, Civil Air Patrol

established Emergency Services as one of its three primary missions. Dedicated volunteers carry out this mission in four areas:

  • Search and Rescue
  • Disaster Relief
  • Humanitarian Services
  • Counterdrug Operations

Download ES Specialty Qualification Training Record (SQTR) [PDF format]
Note:

If you wish to start training in a specialty, print the appropriate SQTR, take it to your squadron commander and have him sign the top section saying that you  have completed the pre-requisites.  Then make a copy of the form and have it placed in the Emergency Services file maintained for you by the squadron to  document that you are allowed to train in that skill.  Follow this same processwhen you complete the Familiarization and Preparatory Training section.  When you have completed all the tasks and it has been signed by the squadron commander  a copy of the SQTR should be placed in your squadron file and your Squadron ES  Officer or

Squadron Commander should enter it into the MIMS system so that you can print off a current CAPF-101 showing you are qualified in that skill.
